Setup

One complete 4-player group is shown. Use two separated pair lanes. Each player has a ball and begins at an opposite end. One pair works while the other holds its balls.

Coaching points

  • Setup: Use two separated pair lanes. Each player has a ball and begins at an opposite end. One pair works while the other holds its balls.
  • Play: Approach at a controlled pace, show a small body feint and move into a clear side space before meeting. Both keep their ball within reach as they pass on separate paths. A controlled exchange of ends earns one shared quality point; stop if paths converge.
  • Reset and rotation: Stop at the opposite ends, then let the other pair work. Change the starting side each turn. After 45 seconds rest and exchange partners; no relay queue or finishing action follows.
  • Numbers: The diagram shows 4 players. With up to 8, use a second complete group in a separate area. Odd spare players rest off the area and rotate into a playing role every 45 seconds; everyone has equal turns.
  • Coach focus: Lift the eyes to read the other dribbler. Move early enough to leave a clear gap rather than trying to squeeze through at the last moment.
  • Safety: No tackling, contact or races. Only one pair moves at a time; use flat lane markers and stop if either player loses control.

Equipment

  • Ball · 5 per group, including a spare
  • Flat Marker · 12 per group for field and zone corners, in addition to pictured markers
  • Bib · 4 per group; colours match the pictured roles

Progressions

  • Easier Walk the approach and agree separate sides before starting.
  • Harder Allow each player to vary their early feint while still choosing visibly separate paths; keep the same pace.
