One complete 7-player group is shown. Two blue and two red play inside, with one inside teal support and a teal receiver on each end boundary, working outside the pitch. All teal players support the team in possession. Only inside players enter the pitch.

Coaching points

  • Setup: Two blue and two red play inside, with one inside teal support and a teal receiver on each end boundary, working outside the pitch. All teal players support the team in possession. Only inside players enter the pitch.
  • Play: Earn one point by linking from one end receiver through at least one inside player to the opposite end receiver without an interception. End receivers cannot pass directly to each other or be challenged. After a point, keep the ball and work back towards the other end; no goal or finishing transition follows.
  • Reset and rotation: On a turnover, the new team first connects with either end receiver to start its own link. For ball out, that end receiver restarts to the other team. Rotate all three support roles every 45 seconds and pause between bouts.
  • Numbers: The diagram shows 7 players. With up to 14, use a second complete group in a separate area. Odd spare players rest off the area and rotate into a playing role every 45 seconds; everyone has equal turns.
  • Coach focus: Show inside and outside options so the carrier can choose a route around pressure. Look for the far end before deciding to recycle.
  • Safety: Ground passes and interception-only defending; no contact. End receivers stand clear of the boundary and retrieval paths. Stop to collect any spare ball entering the area.

Progressions
